Winding Road Through Golden Hills

Our Commitment

Our mission is restorative justice.

We aim to restore the memory and history of the land and its original people, who lived in harmony with Creation and each other. This involves acknowledging the incomplete history recorded by those who came later, who sought to conquer and remake California rather than live in harmony with its tribes and land.

Restoring this history lays the foundation for developing relationships that have been absent for centuries. Our goal is to amplify the voices of descendants of the original people, honoring their resilience and integrity.

We strive to tell the complete story—not just of the genocide and enslavement of the Original Peoples, but also of the invaders who, driven by their own traumas and greed, believed they were pioneers or missionaries. Understanding this history is essential for justice and for addressing its implications today.

The climate crisis is the most urgent threat facing humanity. Our commitment is to seek reconciliation with our planet and with each other.

Our project, “A Beginning is Not A Beginning; There Is Always Something That Went Before,” aims to construct a historical narrative and provide resources to reveal the truth about the land and its people. This work is a vital part of justice.

We hope to reconnect non-Native and non-Indigenous communities with the land's true history. Until this is achieved, those who live here remain unrooted from its sacredness.

Ultimately, our goal is to foster a future of reconciliation and reciprocity with the land and its people, potentially discovering these principles for the first time.

We hope this resource inspires a deeper commitment and helps you find your role in protecting our fragile Earth.
